Real Fictions and Critical Ventures

There is something odd and yet very interesting in trying to put together design fiction and speculative approaches with the 'fail fast' vision of startups and venture capital. These two apparently far apart worlds are actually closer then we think and might need to be more so. Both try to portray potential futures and use products and props as a vehicle to do so, but with very different audience, drivers and goals. However, the more we observe some of the unintended pitfalls and implications of quickly grown startups, products and technologies the more we see the need of a more future driven and critical approach towards the products, companies, and ventures of the future.

In this talk Simone will share the approach around designing 'real fictions' through the experiments of http://automato.farm and how he's trying to bring a more critical approach to the world of ventures with the future food and living lab, YEAST.
